Trailhead Cafe is a locally owned and family operated cafe, in 2004 the Hochman Family moved back to Bar Harbor after a 6 year absence and began working at The Opera House Internet Cafe,  They began 2005 as General Managers and purchased the business in 2010,  In 2012 they purchased the Trailhead Cafe and began to transform it from a simple coffee shop,  in 2013 they moved the cafe into it's current location in the Historic Criterion Theatre building.  in 2014 they closed The Opera House permanently to focus all their attention on Trailhead.   Trailhead is a true family owned and operated business,  Matt and Angel are often joined by their daughters Robyn and Ally, as well as Ally's fiance Ricky.  

When not at Trailhead,   Matt is a Bar Harbor Town Councilor,  Angel serves on the town's Parking and Traffic committee, and both are involved in local arts organizations,  Matthew and Angel both serve on the board of directors for Acadia Community Theater,   Matthew also serves on the board of Summer Festival of the Arts and they both volunteer with the MDI High School Drama department.
